NBA 2K16 Release Date Rumored for Oct. 27, New Features Teased

The Gospel Herald is reporting that NBA 2K16 will be released on October 27 of this year.

The late-October release date would be a departure from the early-October releases for the “2K” series but it would mean the game would release closer to the start of the actual NBA season; something sports games have been doing as of late. Both “Madden NFL 15” and “MLB 15: The Show” launched close to the start of their respective league season openers.

In other “NBA 2K16” news, while Gamestop does not have a release date listed for the game yet, it does have a small features teaser.

“The ‘NBA 2K’ franchise is back with the most true-to-life NBA experience to date with ‘NBA 2K16.’ Guide your MyPLAYER through the complete NBA journey, take control of an entire NBA franchise, or hone your skills online competing against gamers from around the world. With animations that provide smoother movement and more realistic articulation, it’s certain to be the most authentic NBA gaming experience yet.

Last month, according to an image obtained by Polygon, “NBA 2K16” will feature three different covers with the Golden State Warriors Steph Curry, the Houston Rockets James Harden and the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant. The three different covers are similar to “NBA 2K12” which featured Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan and Larry Bird on the covers.
