NBA 2K14 – 2013-2014 Playoffs Simulation

The 2013-2014 NBA Playoffs have arrived and we are as excited as ever. With the next-generation of NBA 2K14 in our hands, we were eager to run a simulation of the post-season and see what results it would yeild.So without further adieu, here is your official NBA 2K14 playoff simulation.

With much anticipation from both conferences, the East playoffs began as expected. The Pacers moved past the Hawks 4-1, Chicago defeated Washington 4-2, Brooklyn advanced past the Raptors 4-2, and the defending World Champion Miami Heat swept the Bobcats 4-0.
With every matchup in the West competitive, the first round saw each top-seeded team advancing as well except for one. The Golden State Warriors pulled off the first round upset, defeating the Los Angeles Clippers in 6. The Spurs went into 6physical games against Dallas, edging them out 4-2, while OKC and Memphis lasted 5 games with the Thunder staying strong in the clutch and winning the series 4-1. Lastly, Houston and Portland battled in an intense 7-game series which saw Houston taking the series in an epic Game 7 at home. To say the first round was a competitive one for the West would be an understatement!
Moving on to the semi-finals, the Thunder and Warriors battled for 6 games with OKC edging out Golden State in the end. The Spurs continued their domination of the West as well, as they went on to defeat Houston in 6.
In the East, Miami handled business against Brooklyn in 5 games, only dropping one close game to the Nets and proving that the champions looked in full championship form thus far. The Bulls gave everything they had to the Pacers but were eliminated in 6 games as Indiana proved why they earned that top spot in the East.

The conference-finals series both saw the best teams in the league competing as the Pacers took on the Heat in the East and Thunder took on the Spurs in the West. Both series would push all four teams to the limit and each ended up resulting in an epic, 7-game series of back and forth games filled with exciting actionthat came down to the wire.

In the end, the Indiana Pacers dethroned the Miami Heat who gave a valiant effort in their quest to return to the NBA Finals for a 4th consecutive year. Out West, it took Oklahoma City seven games to overcome the veteran Spurs and will their way to the Finals. With Kevin Durant leading the way, the Thunder had never looked more focused and intense.

This set up the NBA Finals matchup that many fans around the world wanted: Thundervs. Pacers. Despite matchup issues that concerned OKC, many fans had predicted the Pacers would walk away with the trophy thanks to their elimination of the defending World Champion Miami Heat. This set the stage for one of the most intense Finals in years.

With excellent play from Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant, an epic Finals matchup between two of the NBA’s hungriest teams resulted in the Thunder walking away champions. Close games, buzzer beating shots, and historical moments- OKC finally became world champions, with Kevin Durant netting Finals MVP!
